About Dr. Bob
Dr. Bob started his Education career in 1973. As a teacher and counselor he has advised hundreds of students through the college application process. He was one of six finalists for State of California Future Farmers of America Star Counselor of the Year Award in 2004. He has worked for UC Berkeley as an Admissions/Recruitment Specialist where he was an application reader and for UC San Diego as an Adjunct Faculty member where he taught college counseling courses. His emphasis is upon making the college application process stress free and matches his advising to family needs. Dr. Bob was also an award winning wrestling coach having appeared in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd, his teams set two national records, and he was Coach of the Year numerous times. Dr. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts from Wittenberg University in Business Administration, a Master of Public Administration from Chico State University, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of San Francisco.
After graduating from Harvard University's School of Education, Mary decided to follow one of her dreams by founding Colvig Consulting, LLC. While at Harvard she decided that the best way she could serve students was through working with them directly as a college adviser. In her 13 years as an educator Mary has worked as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and college adviser. She is a National Board Certified teacher and has developed a College and Career Course for Middle School students. As a GEAR UP College Coordinator, she guided hundreds of students on college tours, organized College 101 parent information nights, and advised students in the college application process. Mary also was the Captain of her Division I swimming team at Colgate University and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Latin America. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in History from Colgate University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Dominican University of California, and a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University.
